A little fun on Sunday

Source via Katie on Pinterest

Today was one of those kinda days where we didn't really have anything to do. My hubby is usually the one that finds things to do on the weekend and we go do them. Well with him out of town since Friday we ended up taking two trips to the park. I let Brad pick the park and to my surprise he didn't want to go to the really big playground that's like way across town. He simply picked the very small one close to the house. (Happy Dance)

I don't think that I have really takin' in the fact that Gauge is like seriously walking.
I know that he is walking, but why the heck have I been carrying him every where???????
This was the first time I have been to the park and put him down! And the fact that I could sit down and watch him explore everything was pretty sweet. I thought for sure he would be eat a lot more mulch then he actually did. He was just happy walking around and watching his brother play.

What a great day spent with my babies. I'm a lucky momma.
How was your weekend??

... a look back on how I got here. part 1.

I was one of those teenagers that thought they new everything. School and I didn't go well with each other. I never skipped and rarely got into trouble. I just had better things to do when I was there... like sleep. At this point in my life I lived with my mom and step dad in South Florida. I listed to punk rock music, rode on a skateboard and had short different colored hair. I didn't think I was cool. Nor did I want to be "cool". I had one really close friend and she had a few friends that I would hang out with. We would sit around the mall and do a whole lotta nothing every day. Just walk around every once and a while and get free samples from the food court. My life was not going any where.

After a year of being a freshman in high school I failed all my classes. It wasn't surprising considering I didn't do a lick of work that whole year. After that summer I was put into 9th grade again... how embarrassing it was to sit with a bunch of kids that were all younger then me. 3 months after school started I had a substitute in science that got on to me about not doing any work. So I was sent to see the dean, who then called my step dad cause my mom was at work. One hour later I was no longer a student in high school.
I had no clue where I was going or what I was going to do. Did I tell anybody that? No. I thought I knew it all. I figured I would get a job, get a car, get my own house and be a grown up at 15 years old. That's right, I was 15! It was 2 weeks before I turned 16.

Yeah the idea of doing all that sounded great. I guess someone for got to tell me that when you dropped out of school, you cant have a drivers license till your 18.
Now what?

One month after I turned 16 I still didn't have anything on my to-do list done so I went to visit my dad and step mom across the state. I always thought the town they lived in was pretty lame to say the least. After a day or two of visiting they convinced me it would be best that I move in with them and get a G.E.D. So I went home, packed my bags and off to horse country I went.

Cant find the source. It came from Pinterest.

When I got to my dad's house he told me I could start going to work with him during the day working in construction doing drywall (yes! that's what I said!) and go to school at night. So that's what I did.
It took me a while but I did it. I got my Good Enough Diploma!
And a car and I moved into my first house with my brother all before I turned 18. Go Me! Little did I know that job doing drywall would last for 10 years. (just gave it up 2 months before Gauge was born)
Now I skipped a lot of what happened in a few years because it really wasn't important. What's important is that I finished my high school education. And I was really proud!!

Inspiration Workshop

Today I will be linking up with Gussy over at Gussy Sews again.
When the subject came up about flowers I thought, Oh that sounds great. My first thought was about our wedding day.

When you see a flower you used in your wedding day it reminds you of the stress, the excitement, the love, the joy... WHEN YOU WERE REALLY MAD?!??

See the bouquet above? That was mine! Beautiful I know. Not even close to what I ordered!!!
OK it is orange. That's the only thing that came close to what I wanted. I ordered a 115.00$ Bouquet of orange poppies. (not in my budget at all)

Source from pinterest

I was so mad. My mom and I started cutting pink roses out. UGH pink!
She had bought orange roses on sale at the store that we replaced the pink ones with.
I remeber freaking out that there was greenery in it. I said NO green anything!
I was ready to call the florist and let them have an earfull. After coming to terms that there was no time to change my flowers, I decided they were still very pretty and I could deal with it.
What I am getting at guys is that it was still beautiful. The flowers, the wedding, the poring rain,
my flower girl with all her orange flowers.

My silly sister and her flowery dress.
I look back on my hissy fit and think, Gezz it was just. flowers. You got what you wanted. To spend the rest of your life with the man you loved.

Crazy Mornings

Mornings in my house get a little bit crazy. I wake up every morning to Gauge crying down the hall at exactly 6:30 a.m.. And I'm like "Does he have a hidden alarm clock in there I don't know about?"
So I shuffle my way to his room, search for the binky he threw across the room, then pick up binky and him and head down stairs to get coffeeeeeeeeee.

Then I'm like "I have a coffee pot that will make coffee automatically, why don't I set it?"
It's seriously to early to wonder why I do the things I do so I just go ahead and make it.
Then I make little man a warm sippy cup of milk, change him, then drag myself back up the stairs to wake up hubby for work and Brad to school.
Brad thinks he has all the time in the world to eat his breakfast so I'm usually repeating my self till we leave. "Brad eat your breakfast" "Bradley, really dude! Eat your breakfast" "Brad, we are leaving in 5 minutes. Hurry up and eat!"
This is about the time I start thinking,
I should really get up earlier and drink that coffee before I wake everyone else up so I will not be so cranky.
Then I kiss the husband goodbye so he can get off to work, take Bradley to school, then come home to make the baby breakfast and enjoy playing with him.

I have from 8:00-9:15 to lay on the floor in my jammies with Gauge before he wants to take a nap.
So we play, play, and play some more.
It's really a great time. I love to teach him things.
He knows when I say "Where is your belly" he will lift up his shirt! I love it!
I love that he will stick his tongue out now.
I love when I put the blanket over my head he jumps on me and makes the cutest squeal.
I love how he thinks it is funny to stick his binky in my mouth only to take it right back.

Everyone of these mornings are to be cherished. I have learned with Bradley that they grow up to fast. One day my babies will be all grown and I will look back from my rocking chair and think "where did the time go, I wish I had more of those crazy mornings".

Halloween fun

When I woke my son Bradley up for school yesterday I told him "Happy Halloween! Let's get ready for school" and he replied "You didn't get a pumpkin" I was like "Opps, I guess I better do that then huh?"
I thought it seemed silly to go buy a pumpkin on Halloween considering it would be heading to my compost pile today but I went ahead and got one to make him happy.
Here's a bonus about buying pumpkins on Halloween. It was half price! The baby and I picked out a big lumpy one. Really, it was the only one that seemed to stay up by itself and wasn't rotten.
Bradley was very happy when I picked him up from school and told him we were going home to carve a pumpkin. When we got to the house he jumped out of the car and told me "I'll get it!". Before I could tell him not to he opened the back of the car and it rolled out and hit the dirt with a nice big THUMP.
I knew that was going to happen. Thank goodness it wasn't completely destroyed. Beside a big crack it was still carveable. Here some pic's.

I love having kids to dress up and take trick or treating. I guess since I'm to old to do it anymore I can live through them. Brad wanted to be a vampire again so he wore his costume from last year. I chose not to spend the money on one for Gauge and watch him throw and fit cause I'm putting him in some crazy getup. My sister bought him the skeleton shirt and that was good enough for me.
